When should I travel?

Most summer homes in Martha’s Vineyard are booked from Saturday - Saturday/Sunday-Sunday (or at least require a 7 day rental). We suggest planning your travel to arrive on Saturday, July 27th and departing Saturday, August 2nd.

What’s the best website for lodging?

House  rentals are the most common form of accommodations on Martha’s Vineyard. Most rentals in the summer are weeklong, usually beginning on Saturday or Sunday. The following websites are a great place to start!

In addition, there are a few hotels and bed & breakfast locations on the island. Those closest to our host area are Summercamp, .Attleboro House, and the Dockside Inn.

How do I get to Martha’s Vineyard?

The Island of Martha’s Vineyard can only be reached by sea or by air; there are no land routes, bridges or tunnels connecting it to the mainland. Book your travel and housing accommodations early! Limited flights can also be purchased directly into Martha’s Vineyard, using the airport code MVY.

Peter Pan Bus and Plymouth/Brockton Bus both provide daily service to ferry terminals from Boston Logan Airport, Boston South Station and other locations.  

The Steamship Authority provides year-round passenger and auto (the only ferry that accommodates autos) ferry service from Woods Hole (mainland Massachusetts near Falmouth) to Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven on island.

The Island Queen ferry provides transportation from Falmouth on Cape Cod to Oak Bluffs.

Hy-line Cruises provides transportation from Hyannis on Cape Cod to Oak Bluffs

During August, many airlines also fly directly into Martha’s Vineyard. Airport Code: MVY

Any car ferry reservations should be made as early as possible.

How will we get around on the island?

You know we Rattlers like to have a good time! Most events will be child friendly, but if you’d like to let loose, you will need to make accommodations for childcare.
